In some instances, more advanced methods are needed to address severe cases of an improper bite. Our orthodontist may recommend corrective jaw surgery to correct severe discrepancies in size, shape, or misalignment in the jaw. Jaw surgery can drastically improve function and allow patients to eat, speak, and sleep much more comfortably. While our practice serving Bowie, MD, usually opts for other options such as braces, sometimes corrective jaw surgery will provide a greater outcome for the patient.
