Metal Braces
Metal braces are a tried and true orthodontic treatment. Metal braces consist of a series of wires, brackets, and bands that work together to gently move the teeth into alignment. Dr. Scott uses special space-age wires that are designed to move the teeth faster but with less discomfort for the patient than traditional metal braces.
Ceramic Braces
For patients who want a more discreet option, we also offer ceramic braces. Like metal braces, ceramic braces are made up of wires, brackets, and bands. However, the brackets and bands are clear instead of silver. As with metal braces, Dr. Scott uses space-age wires to deliver more efficient and comfortable treatment.
Clear Aligners
Invisalign® is another discreet alternative to traditional braces. Invisalign uses a series of clear aligners to gently shift the teeth into alignment over a period of 12 to 18 months. Dr. Scott is a great doctor and even better person. Same can be said about his team. He takes a personal investment in your well-being...and smile. As long as you keep appointments and follow the instructions (wear your rubber bands!) the process is seamless. I went in to his office in June 2013 fully expecting braces to be on for 2 years, but alas they're off before my wedding in October 2015. 15 months! The day you have your braces removed or the day you complete your Invisalign treatment will be one of the most exciting days of your life! At Scott Orthodontics, we help patients in and around Bowie protect their smiles and help them look as great as possible after completing orthodontic treatment.
At the end of your treatment, our orthodontist will give you a retainer to wear each night. This retainer will prevent your teeth from moving and protect your newly straightened smile. If you are an Invisalign patient, you'll most likely wear the last tray as your retainer.
